I have a long-standing interest in people, their health and their learning. After many years working in the field of diabetes education, I am passionate about helping people to navigate their diabetes around their lives. As well as my clinical role I work as a Unit Chair in the Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education at Deakin University.

I firmly believe in supporting people’s ability to self-care and self-manage their health. Diabetes is a complex chronic condition and those people living with it require support to adapt and problem solve to enhance their quality of life. The field of diabetes is constantly evolving with medications and technology and lifestyle recommendations. I am very enthusiastic to work in this space to keep clients informed of the latest products available.

One area of special interest for me is gestational diabetes, where women often have a very short timeframe to absorb a lot of information and adapt their lifestyle to optimise glucose levels.

At the Baker Institute I really enjoy working within a team of varied disciplines striving towards the same goal — to support people with their diabetes and optimising their health.
