About the Translational Cardiology Centre
The Translational Cardiology Centre is a group of highly specialised translational research scientists and clinicians who lead new ideas and discoveries from the bedside to bench and bench to bedside.
To achieve its mission of “Leading discovery to and from the clinic”, the Translational Cardiology Centre enables uniquely translational research through its applications of multiple clinical modalities such as cardiac ultrasound, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiovascular fluoroscopy, and vascular and intracardiac catheterisation.
With established expertise in state-of-the-art equipment and procedures, the Translational Cardiology Centre conducts research that is either directly translatable to clinical practice, informs the design of clinical trials or validates the feasibility, safety and efficacy of new biotechnologies (medicines and devices).
Equally, the Translational Cardiology Centre’s Research Group of multidisciplinary specialist consultants help to drive clinical questions back into the laboratory where new ideas and concepts can be tested, and real-world clinical problems begin their journey to promising new solutions.
The Translational Cardiology Centre is a centre for both research and training, and provides unparalleled opportunities for biomedical and clinical research students and fellows, particularly those with an interest in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, and/or cardiac imaging.
