Marcus Mohr is a PhD candidate in the Translational Cardiology Centre. Under the supervision of Associate Professor Daniel Donner, he is currently investigating the determinants of survival and neurological outcomes in preclinical models of cardiogenic shock post-arrest. Marcus aims to deepen our understanding of the pathophysiology underlying cardiogenic shock to improve treatment strategies for this severe syndrome and improve patient mortality and quality of life alike.
Marcus completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) with the Translational Cardiology Centre in 2025 through the Monash University School of Translational Medicine. His honours thesis aimed to prove the feasibility of a new shockable model of arrest, utilising gold-standard hemodynamic monitoring tools, such as pressure-volume catheters, echocardiography and MRI. In his PhD, Marcus will continue to specialise in these techniques to provide robust and comprehensive results.
