Heart Failure Research
Misha Dagan is a cardiologist and PhD candidate whose research focuses on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and pulmonary hypertension, conditions in which symptoms, underlying physiology and clinical risk can be difficult to define using routine testing alone. Her research spans invasive cardiovascular physiology, exercise haemodynamics, pulmonary vascular remodelling and right ventricular adaptation. Through this work, she aims to improve how these patients are diagnosed, phenotyped and risk-stratified, with the longer-term goal of supporting more personalised treatment and better outcomes.
Her PhD is undertaken through Alfred Health, the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and Monash University, and is supported by an NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship and Baker Bright Sparks Top-up Scholarship. Misha combines clinical practice with cardiovascular research as a general cardiologist at Alfred Health and a Pulmonary Hypertension Fellow at Austin Health. She has authored or co-authored more than 35 scientific publications and has presented her research at national and international conferences.
