Laboratory
Molecular Imaging and Nanotherapeutics
Dr Yuyang Song is a Research Officer in the Molecular Imaging and Nanotherapeutics laboratory at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and holds an honorary appointment with Melbourne Medical School at the University of Melbourne.
Dr Song’s research focuses on developing next-generation targeted therapies for cardiovascular diseases. His research spans recombinant protein engineering, lipid nanoparticle-mediated mRNA delivery, self-amplifying mRNA technologies, and cell therapies. Across these approaches, the goal is to achieve long-lasting therapeutic effects while minimising adverse effects, particularly bleeding complications associated with current cardiovascular treatments, and to advance innovative therapies towards clinical translation.
