Why regular giving matters
Heart disease claims an Australian life every 12 minutes. Diabetes is now the fastest-growing chronic condition in the country, with someone newly diagnosed every five minutes. These aren't statistics on a page — they're parents, partners, children and friends.
Our scientists are working every day to change that. They're developing a simple blood test that could predict cardiovascular disease before it strikes. They're pioneering technology to detect unstable coronary plaques before they cause a heart attack. They're uncovering the complex biology of diabetes complications to find better, kinder treatments for the people living with them.
This work takes time, commitment and sustained investment. A regular gift — however large or small — gives our researchers the certainty to keep going.

How much do Lab Partners give?
You can give as little or as much as you're comfortable with — and you can change your amount at any time. As a guide, most of our Lab Partners contribute $40 every four weeks, supporting more than 100 active research projects across the Institute.
Regular giving is also the most cost-effective way to support our work. Lower administration costs mean more of your donation goes directly to research.
