Anastasia Barbaro-Wahl is a Research Assistant in the Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology laboratory at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute.

Anastasia graduated from Monash University with a double degree in Bachelor of Science (majoring in genetics) and Bachelor of Arts (specialising in international relations). Afterwards, Anastasia completed a First-Class honours degree with the Department of Biological Sciences at Monash University as part of the Hypertension Research Group. For her project she investigated the role of short-chain fatty acid-sensing receptors in hypertension. This project then lead her to pursue a career in cardiovascular research.
