Vraj Shah is a Biomedical Science graduate specialising in laboratory medicine, with hands-on experience across clinical and research settings. He has developed strong expertise in advanced chromatographic techniques LC-MS/MS and GC-MS applying both qualitative and quantitative analysis across conventional and microsampling matrices, including dried blood spots (DBS), dried urine cards, and Mitra self-collection devices.

Vraj holds accreditation under both CLIA and NATA ISO 15189 standards and has built deep proficiency in laboratory quality control procedures throughout his career. Previously working as a National QC Product Specialist at a major life science and diagnostics company, he assisted pathology laboratories in integrating QC systems and achieving accreditation readiness. Vraj now applies this experience to his Honours research under the guidance of Professor Peter Meikle and Dr Thomas Meikle, where he is contributing to the clinical validation of a lipidomics platform leveraging HPLC and tandem mass spectrometry to measure hundreds of lipid biomarkers from a single blood sample, with the aim of translating research protocols into NATA accredited clinical laboratory for improved patient outcomes.
