This study is looking at how helpful and easy to use a new AI-powered diabetes support tool is for adults with type 2 diabetes who attend the Baker Institute's Diabetes Clinic. Managing diabetes can be challenging and usually requires ongoing education and support. However, in Australia, fewer than half of people with diabetes receive formal diabetes education. Barriers such as cost, lack of time, and distance from services can make it difficult to access this support. As a result, many people turn to the internet for advice, which can sometimes be confusing, inconsistent, or not based on proper medical guidelines. This AI tool was created to help fill that gap by providing personalised, reliable information that supports people in managing their diabetes day to day.

The tool was developed by a team that included doctors, dietitians, researchers, technology experts, and people living with diabetes. It works by using information entered by the user such as health details and lifestyle habits to generate a personalised care plan. The advice is based on Australian and international diabetes guidelines and is written in plain, easy to understand language. It covers important areas like medications, healthy eating, physical activity, and recommended health checks. The tool is not designed to replace doctors or healthcare teams, but rather to support conversations and help people feel more confident and informed about their care.

This study will explore how easy the tool is to use, whether the advice is clear and helpful, how satisfied people feel after using it, and whether they would use it again in the future. The feedback gathered will help improve the tool and guide the development of better digital support options for people living with diabetes.
