Benedict Nathaniel is a research assistant in the Molecular Imaging and Theranostics laboratory under the supervision of Prof Xiaowei Wang. His current research interests include targeted mRNA therapeutics, clinical applications of lipid nanoparticles, and acute animal models of inflammatory and cardiometabolic diseases. By collaborating with the senior colleagues in his lab, he aims to gain insight into the advanced mRNA delivery systems to reach target cells, and develop further understanding in its specificity in cases of thrombosis models.

Benedict completed his Master of Biomedical Science (MBiomedSc) and Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) at the University of Melbourne. His master’s thesis investigated a clinical predictive scoring system in cases of epilepsy caused by the gene SCN2A. Having worked in male reproductive health and germ cell biology after his postgraduate studies, Benedict gained and developed skills in various laboratory techniques and bioinformatics as well.
