Dr Elly Fletcher

BExSc&Nutr | BNut(Hon) | PhD (Deakin University)

Dr Fletcher is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Physical Activity Laboratory. Dr Fletcher received her PhD from Deakin University in 2017. Her PhD examined the role of dietary intake in the relationship between sedentary behaviour and cardiometabolic health in adolescents. Prior to Elly’s PhD, she completed an Honours degree in Nutrition at Monash University and a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University.

Dr Fletcher has a multi-disciplinary track record, with publications in the fields of nutrition, exercise science and obesity. Dr Fletcher’s current research is focusing on the potential importance of reducing and breaking up sedentary behaviour in adults who are at risk of future type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, with particular focus on women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
