DPT, Rutgers University | BS Health and Exercise Physiology
Evan is a research assistant motivated by a strong interest in exercise and fitness. Evan seeks to understand how physical activity influences quality of life and promotes longevity. Through his research, Evan aims to equip practitioners with the knowledge to more effectively prescribe exercise programmes tailored to diverse populations, thus enhancing patient outcomes.
Evan has a background as a physical therapist in the United States, having earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2019. He worked in several orthopaedic clinics with a focus on treating musculoskeletal injuries and neurological conditions before moving to Australia in 2023. This foundation supports Evan's commitment to advancing research in this field.
Currently, Evan's research is centred around the application of data from cardiopulmonary exercise tests to improve the prescription of exercise intensity for aerobic training. Evan is also actively engaged in the REDEEM and STEP projects, both of which involve individualised exercise programs in the management of people with cardiovascular conditions. These projects aim to bridge the gap between theoretical research and its application in healthcare settings.
