Shulei Ren

B-BMED, University of Melbourne

Shulei Ren completed his Bachelor of Biomedicine and is currently pursuing a Master of Biomedical Science at the University of Melbourne. Under the supervision of Professor Xiaowei Wang, Dr Cuong Viet Pham and Dr Mark Louis Vidallon, his research focuses on developing mRNA-lipid nanoparticle therapies for cardiovascular disease, aiming to design and optimise formulations for targeted delivery and specific administration routes.

Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of mortality, with current treatments limited by poor drug targeting. mRNA-lipid nanoparticles offer a promising solution, but optimising their stability and efficiency is a key challenge. Shulei’s research integrates nanotechnology, molecular medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences to advance RNA-based drug delivery and improve cardiovascular treatment strategies.

Passionate about drug delivery and translational research, Shulei is committed to developing next-generation RNA therapeutics with real-world clinical applications. His work aims to bridge the gap between laboratory innovation and effective patient care.
