Taha Aghajanzadeh

BSc | MSc

Taha holds a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology–Microbiology from Shahid Beheshti University, where his growing interest in the cellular mechanisms underlying health and disease inspired him to pursue a MSc degree in Cell and Developmental Biology. During his MSc, he focused on non-invasive biomarkers for detecting liver fibrosis.

After graduating, Taha began working as a research assistant at the Research Institute for Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases, contributing to several projects involving extracellular vesicles, RNA therapeutics, and systems biology approaches to metabolic and fibrotic liver conditions. He was also involved in a clinical trial exploring the therapeutic potential of MSC-Exo in patients with liver cirrhosis.

In 2025, Taha continued his PhD studies at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in partnership with La Trobe University at the Molecular Proteomics lab. He was awarded the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship. His current PhD research focuses on developing nanovesicle-based drug delivery systems targeting the heart, with a specific application in myocardial infarction models.
