Theranostics is the combination of therapy and diagnostics approaches. By integrating imaging technologies with therapeutic interventions, theranostics can provide personalised and targeted treatment strategies. By incorporating nanobiotechnology, chemistry and in- depth understanding of biological processes, we are developing biocompatible nano-/micro-particles with multi-functional properties. These particles can be designed with various contrast agents for diagnostic (ultrasound/MRI/PET) imaging and can be used to carry larger payloads of drugs or genetic materials. Theranostics treatment can provide real-time information about the disease state, allowing for tailored therapies according to individual disease characteristics.
