Dr Jessie Chieh-Hsin Yang
MSc (Science) | PhD (Medicine)
I am a senior research officer (PhD in Medicine, University of Melbourne, awarded December 2018) in the Diabetes and Vascular Medicine laboratory. My research focuses are to expand our knowledge in the understanding of pancreatic beta cell biology and improving medical decision in clinical practices, particularly in diabetes and its associated complications.
I have strong knowledge and extensive practical experience in research across biochemistry, molecular biology, physiology, genetics and human clinical trials particularly in the field of endocrinology and human metabolic disorders. These qualities facilitate my ability to navigate both basic and clinical research in studying human diseases. I have a proven track record of high-quality research and possess exceptional transferable skills that can be applied to a broad range of research fields. In addition, I have a strong commitment to education and motivation of the future generation of scientists through co-supervision and mentoring 9 students/staff in recent 5 years. My greatest enthusiasm in life is to translate my knowledge and skills into effective clinical diabetes practice.
