Kai Wallens is driven and dedicated to improving global health outcomes through research and innovation. With a focus on the impact of modern lifestyles on non-communicable diseases, Kai combines his passion for physical activity, biomedicine, public health, and global health to advance knowledge on effective lifestyle interventions and healthcare systems. His work seeks to provide critical insights to inform future policies and promote efficient measures for those living with non-communicable diseases.
Kai holds a Master of Public Health (Global Health) and a Bachelor of Biomedicine (Physiology), equipping him with the knowledge and skills to address complex health challenges. His research focus lies in developing a digitally enabled, socially connected environment to support heart failure patients in their self-care journey.
A key player in formulating an Ideas Grant application for the Connect4Health project, Kai advocates for the implementation of co-design for the use of digital technology to empower heart failure patients in managing their symptoms. His expertise not only extends to local health issues but also encompasses global health concerns through his involvement in the preliminary stages of a lifestyle intervention study in Shillong, rural India. This project aims to address the adolescent population at risk for various cardiometabolic diseases.
Kai aims to create meaningful change within the global health landscape and contribute to a healthier, more connected world.
