Dr Kevin Liu
PhD, University of Melbourne
Kevin completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne, with his research focussed on investigating two proteins p21 activated kinase 1 and β-catenin interactions and their roles in colorectal cancer development. After finishing his PhD in 2012, he worked in the Breast Cancer laboratory at WEHI, where his research focused on studying breast stem cells in normal breast tissue and cancer treatments using patient derived xenografts. In 2019, Kevin joined the Lipid Metabolism and Cardiometabolic Disease, and Molecular Metabolism and Ageing laboratories as a Research Assistant.
Kevin has extensive animal experience and is currently involved in various projects with a preclinical focus. He has expertise in animal handling, tissue collection and downstream molecular analyses. He is also responsible for laboratory management and general maintenance.
