Prasad Senevirathna is a Clinical Research Coordinator with a strong commitment to advancing the fields of diabetes and obesity through rigorous clinical research. Motivated by a passion to improve public health outcomes, Prasad aims to unravel the complex interplay of genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors that contribute to these prevalent conditions. Observing the rising rates of diabetes and obesity, Prasad is inspired by the potential to develop innovative solutions that could lead to better management and prevention strategies.
Prasad holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Health and Medical Science Honours from Deakin University, School of Medicine. These qualifications underpin a focused approach to research, primarily centred on developing personalised treatments and lifestyle interventions for diabetes and obesity.
In Prasad's current role, the emphasis is on a series of GLP-1 agonist trials, including REIMAGINE-2, REDEFINE-3, SYNCHRONIZE-1, and SYNCHRONIZE-2. These projects aim to improve glycaemic control and support weight loss among individuals with diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Prasad actively collaborates with pharmaceutical companies like NOVO Nordisk and Boehringer Ingelheim, and Contract Research Organisations such as IQVIA and ICON.
