Shania Anggita Prijaya is a PhD student currently working in the Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology lab. She is investigating the immune response following myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as heart attacks.
T cells have been shown to play a role in cardiac healing following MI. However, their roles remain unclear. Shania’s research focuses on the role of T cells in modulating cardiac reperfusion injury in murine models. To study this, Shania uses advanced preclinical models and spectral flow cytometry. This work holds the potential to inform the development of novel therapeutic strategies, ultimately improving clinical outcomes in patients following myocardial infarction.
