The Baker Institute is proud to share its 95th birthday with our wonderful supporter and long-time donor, Keith Wilson.

Happy Birthday KeithBorn on the 20th of May 1926, Keith was the youngest of 3 siblings. Keith’s mother died from complications of diabetes when he was just 3 years old. He was raised by family friends, William and Elizabeth Thomas.

Sadly, Keith’s foster parents and biological father later passed away from heart attack.

After the Second World War, Keith went on to build a long and rewarding career in public service where he managed many employees and helped countless people in need.

In retirement, Keith continued helping others in the community by raising funds for the Victorian Tuberculosis Association and Neighbourhood Watch.

In 1996, Keith underwent a triple bypass, and more recently had a pacemaker inserted, as well as a new heart valve.

Keith is described by close friends as someone who is always learning and developing as a person, and forever looking forward. Keith’s forward thinking motivated him to kindly leave a gift in his Will to the Baker Institute. He believes that medical research can provide a brighter, healthier future for Australians living with heart disease and diabetes. We are grateful for Keith’s wonderful friendship and congratulate him on reaching this special milestone in his life.
