Pukjera Jena Rungreang

BSc Biochemistry, California State University | Master of Biomedical and Health Science, Monash University

In 2022, Pukjera completed her Master of Biomedical and Health Sciences at Monash University. Her research investigated how phosphorylation of a conserved motif in J-domain proteins influences their regulation and anti-aggregation activity.

Currently, Pukjera is undertaking her PhD in the Metabolomics laboratory at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Research Institute under the supervision of Professor Peter Meikle. Her research focuses on targeted delivery of plasmalogen precursors using lipid-based delivery systems, with a particular emphasis on cardiac injury under oxidative stress. This work aims to advance targeted plasmalogen-modulation strategies and to evaluate their therapeutic potential in preclinical models of cardiovascular disease.
