Pukjera Jena Rungreang

BSc Biochemistry, California State University | Master of Biomedical and Health Science, Monash University

In 2022, Pukjera completed her Master of Biomedical and Health Sciences at Monash University. Her research investigated how the phosphorylation of a motif found in J-domain proteins could affect J-domain proteins regulation and anti-aggregation activity.

Pukjera is undertaking her PhD in the Metabolomics laboratory at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Research Institute under the supervision of Professor Peter Meikle. Her project focuses on developing targeted strategies for rapid, specific delivery of plasmalogen precursors in preclinical models of stable and unstable coronary artery disease. This project will help define the potential of targeted plasmalogen upregulation as a potential therapeutic against cardiovascular diseases.
