Dr Ruth Magaye
PhD, Monash University | MSc, NBU | BSc, UPNG
Ruth is a postdoctoral researcher in the Heart Failure Research group headed by Professor David Kaye. She was awarded her PhD in 2021 from Monash University, where she investigated the role of sphingolipids in cardiac remodeling under the guidance of Associate Professor Bing Wang and Professor Bernard Flynn (Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Science). Her research on sphingolipid analogues and their interactions with primary neonatal rat cardiac cells and their role in heart failure have been published in high impact factor journals including Cellular Signalling.
Her current research focuses on developing animal models for heart failure with preserved ejection (HFpEF) with clinically relevant multi-hit disease model to investigate disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets for HFpEF patients.
