Thirty five years working as Research Nurse, specialising in Cardiovascular Research. I have coordinated an extensive amount of cardiac and type 2 diabetes trials — from Cardiac devices to lipid lowering medications. The latest has been a subcutaneous injection containing monoclonal antibodies which inhibits the PCSK9 pathways to lower Cholesterol. A small percentage of the population are intolerant to statin therapy due to muscle-related side effects and have coronary artery disease. This has been a major breakthrough for these individuals to reduce further disease progression.
