Losing a loved one is a painful experience for any family. Sadly, the Toumazou family are grieving the unexpected loss of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Helen Toumazou.
Remembered as a kind and loving woman who centred her world around her family, Helen was greatly loved by her husband Stan, her three sons, Dimitri, Harry, and Anthony, her three daughters-in-law, Giselle, Caitlyn and Demi and all the people that knew her. Helen cherished her first grandson, 8-month-old Ari, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second grandchild in May.
Tragically, Helen was only in her fifties when she died suddenly from heart disease in January, leaving her adoring family shocked and heartbroken.
The Toumazou family have honoured Helen by creating a special tribute page to raise funds to support lifesaving medical research. They chose to give these funds to the Baker Institute, as our research has touched both Helen and Stan — Helen’s passing was heart related and Stan currently lives with diabetes. The family believes that research into diagnosing, preventing, and treating heart disease and diabetes is necessary.
To date, gifts in memory of Helen from her family and friends have reached over $7600 — an incredible testament to Helen’s enduring legacy.
“We will forever remember Helen as a woman who always put her family first, before anyone or anything else, even herself. Her passing has taught us all that, in order to be around for those we love, it is important to look after ourselves also” shared Dimitri.
We are deeply grateful to have the wonderful support of the Toumazou family and our sincere condolences go out to them at this difficult time.
